 Prayer Shawl Ministry

  • To bring prayers and comfort to the sick of our parish and our community and to those with special needs through the work of our hands.

St. Mary’s Faith Formation Program

  • Faith formation for students.
  • Available for school grades 1 – 12.
  • First Communion; First Penance: St. Mary’s Parish second graders.
  • Confirmation: two-year program, beginning in the eighth grade.
  • Classes follow the Clinton Central School calendar.
  • Full schedule brochures are available.

Hearts & Hands of St. Mary’s

  • Open to all men and women of St. Mary’s Parish
  • The Group does community outreach, social events and fundraising.
  • Monthly meetings (August through June). Sub-Committee meetings as needed.
  • New members and new ideas are always welcome.

  • Assist at parish liturgies by reading Sacred Scriptures (First Reading, Responsorial Psalm, and  Second Reading).
  • Volunteers read approximately once a month.
  • Initial training is provided.
  • Lectors’ workbooks are provided.

Eucharistic Ministers

  • Assist in the distribution of Eucharist at Parish Liturgies.
  • Weekend liturgies; volunteers assist one or two times a month.
  • One training session.

Usher Service

  • An informal group that serves as needed at Masses and other liturgi­cal services.
  • Take up and secure Offertory collection at Mass.
  • If required, assist people with seating and aiding anyone during services.
  • Open church doors for entry and exit; close up doors and windows, collect extra bulletins and replace missals in racks after service.
  • Time commitment is minimal. Ushers are an “ad hoc” service.  Currently, there are no scheduled assignments for Masses.

St. Mary’s Choir

  • Four-part-harmony choir for Masses and Parish celebrations.
  • Active October though May.
  • Men, women, and teenagers are  welcome.
  • Rehearsals at 9:30 Sunday mornings and before holidays.

Liturgy of the Word for Children

  • Leaders for conducting the Liturgy of The Word for children.
  • Liturgy is at the 10:30 am Sunday Mass.
  • Time commitment: 15 minutes every other month.
  • All required materials are provided.

Third Thursday Group

  • A monthly parishioner’s prayer and social gathering.
  • Shared prayer and socializing.
  • Communion Service at noontime, in the church.
  • Open to all.
  • Afterwards: brown bag lunch; drinks and desserts provided.

St. Mary’s Youth Choir

  • Afford­s young people active participation in the liturgy.
  • Open to all students in grades five and above.
  • Sings at 5:15 p.m. Vigil Mass, and holiday celebrations.
  • Instrumentalists are always welcome.
  • Rehearsals are before Mass, with additional rehearsals at the convenience of the members.

Prayer Line

  • Parishioners form a telephone chain of prayers for anyone in need of extra prayers.
  • Currently consists of four different groups.
  • Time commitment is minimal.

Parish Outreach

  • Parish Outreach is a response to help St. Mary’s Parishioners.
  • Volunteers visit newly released hospital patients and shut-ins.
  • Volunteers also distribute the Eucharist at nearby nursing homes and to homebound parishioners.

Altar Care

  • Responsible for cleaning of the altar sanctuary.
  • Saturday mornings following the 8 a.m. Mass.
  • Time commitment: 45 minutes to one hour.

The Country Pantry

  • An ecumenical program of 11 churches in the Clinton—Clark Mills—Westmore­land area.
  • Based at Annunciation Church in Clark Mills.
  • Pantry provides supplemental food and related items to qualified needy families in area.
  • Food is packed and distributed on a monthly basis. Additional special projects occur during holidays.
  • Teams of St. Mary’s volunteers help in transporting, sorting, stocking and preparing items for distribution.
  • Time commitment: as little or as much as you like — all are welcome.
